Below are the basic things you need to set up your computer as a server

  1. Collect your computer details This step is to check if your computer is capable of handling a game as big as the minecraft in it. You will need sufficient amount of space in your RAM to deal with the number of people you are going to host and also take into account your CPU’s performance.
  2. Internet Now you know this is obvious, but you will need internet with good speed that will help interact with other players in real time and plan your strategy to deal with monsters.

  1. Create a folder for the server application program, place them in the C Drive as this is in the Hard Drive
  2. Download the appropriate MineCraft server application program for your computer. Save this file in the folder created in the above step.
  3. Run the exe file you downloaded, get the application program ready for use
  4. Customize the settings as per your liking, you can change the game settings like the mode, difficulty, level and many other things.
  5. Determine who the administrator is and with the privileges
  6. Configure the router settings to make your server visible to players outside
  7. Determine your public IP Address
